Cardiff | £25,000–£28,000 | Permanent 

We’re working with a well-established Cardiff employer that is looking to add a Finance Assistant to its existing finance team.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who already has some exposure to finance and wants to build broader experience within a busy commercial environment.

You’ll work as part of a small, supportive team and get involved in a good mix of day-to-day finance activity, reporting and month-end support.

What you’ll be doing You’ll help keep the finance function running smoothly by supporting with tasks such as:

• Month-end finance activity
  
  
• Account reconciliations
  
  
• Reviewing and checking financial information
  
  
• Supporting internal reporting
  
  
• Investigating discrepancies and resolving queries
  
  
• Processing adjustments where required
  
  
• Working with colleagues across the business to obtain or clarify financial information
  
  
• Supporting senior members of the finance team with reporting and analysis
  
  
• General finance administration and ad hoc project work
  
  

It’s a role with plenty of variety, so you won’t simply be processing the same transactions every day.

What we’re looking for You don’t need to be fully qualified or have years of experience.

We’re looking for someone who has a good grounding in finance and, just as importantly, is:

• Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
  
  
• Accurate and organised
  
  
• Confident using Excel
  
  
• Able to communicate clearly over the phone and by email
  
  
• Happy working as part of a close-knit team
  
  
• Proactive when something doesn’t look right
  
  
• Keen to learn and develop their finance experience
  
  

Previous experience in an accounts or finance position would be useful, but attitude and potential will be equally important.
