The Opportunity

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes when the regular teacher is unavailable, ensuring students remain focused and learning continues.

You will follow pre-prepared lesson plans, communicate instructions clearly and manage classroom behaviour effectively.

This role would suit experienced Cover Supervisors as well as ECTs and Qualified Teachers looking for flexible work. Teaching Assistants and other education professionals with strong secondary classroom experience may also be considered.

You do not need to be a subject specialist for every lesson. You will be expected to follow the work provided, support students where appropriate and maintain a safe, structured and productive classroom.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervising secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and clearly communicating instructions.
• Managing classroom behaviour calmly, fairly and consistently.
• Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
• Monitoring student engagement and ensuring work is completed.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Adapting to different subjects, year groups and school environments.
• Communicating effectively with teaching staff and school leaders.
• Following safeguarding and school policies.
